Welsh Curry House of the Year 2012

Chefs the length and breadth of Wales are sharpening their knives and donning their aprons in preparation for what many regard as the highlight of the country's curry calendar – the Welsh Curry House of the Year competition.

On February 16th the event organisers will announce which 30 lucky restaurants have made the shortlist for the next round of the competition. Over the ensuing five weeks independent regional judges will visit each of the shortlisted restaurants, with the national winner announced on April 23rd.

Berwyn Reynolds from competition organisers The Festivals Company said: “This is a great way for the public – we received over 11,000 votes last year – to get more involved with the competition by tasting some great food, a fusion of Indian cooking and Welsh ingredients. It is also a fantastic opportunity for the very best chefs to demonstrate how they can take the best we have in Wales and combine them with the best in Indian cuisine.”
