Waitrose Finds Liberation

Waitrose is to stock Liberation, the Fairtrade brand of nuts.

The packs of mixed cashew and peanuts are baked with some oil and come in four flavours; lightly ‘lightly salted’, ‘with a hint of smoke’, ‘lemon and a hint of chilli’ and ‘natural’.

The growers of the nuts own 42 percent of Liberation to ensure they have a real say in the products, which were first sold in Oxfam, health food stores, and online. With a successful Christmas, Waitrose, part of the John Lewis Partnership, has become its first national supermarket chain to stock the products, and Liberation have also got the nuts into Sainsbury’s.

The supermarket chain is no stranger to Fairtrade with all of its bananas fairtrade certified and 1 in 4 of its flowers also certified.

You can find Liberation in any Waitrose and Sainsbury’s nationwide.
