Local Entrepreneur Creates Food Emporium

Extensively travelled foodie, David Thomson – who once crossed the Sahara on a motorbike and sailed the Atlantic in a tall ship – has created his very own “food emporium” and ice cream parlour in the historic and unique North Yorkshire village of Ripley, complete with its own castle.

The Bijou Ice Cream Parlour and newly rejuvenated Ripley Store sit at the heart of the village dominated by the historic Ripley Castle.

A local entrepreneur and now proud of owner of the emporium, Thomson has visited over 60 counties by various means of transport, gathering an eclectic mix of food and wine en route, enabling to create something rather special at Ripley Store. It has already attracted visitors from all over the country, who come for a cornet of the “world famous” Ripley ice Cream.
