Consumers are becoming increasingly aware that the food we eat has an effect on how we feel in body and mind. Now for the first time an independent audit has been established to help companies find out if their products meet certain criteria that enable it to be described as ‘brain food.’

The independent charity, Food for the Brain, has been established to promote the link between learning, behaviour, mental health and nutrition. They aim to inform consumers as well as manufacturers.

The first products to pass the audit process, to achieve food for the brain status include Nains oatcakes and biscuits, CherryActive’s Montmorency Cherry Juice drink and Equazen’s range of Omega 3 and 6 supplements.
