Delia Smith’s Favourite Restaurant is Memsaheb on Thames

TV chef and best-selling cookery writer Delia Smith has declared her favourite Indian restaurant to be Memsaheb on Thames in the London Docklands.

The long established riverside restaurant is mentioned in both Smith’s current recipe book Delia’s How to Cheat at Cooking, in which the chef and writer features Memsaheb’s recipe for Goan Lamb Xacutti, as well as being shown in her TV series Delia, broadcast recently on BBC 2, where she was filmed enjoying the restaurant and trying out the cooking with former Liverpool footballer Alan Hansen and its staff.

“Delia has long been a Wapping resident and has been coming to our restaurant for several years,” said Memsaheb’s jubilant co-owner Mridul Kanti Das. “We couldn’t be happier with her featuring our dish of Goan Lamb Xacutti on one of the book’s recipe pages and the fact that her TV show has also included us."
