The owner of the F Words Best Local Restaurant competition has his eye on bigger things, with his eye on looking to franchise his business.
Jabbar Khan, director and founder of the Lasan Group, is set on expansion and thinks the best way of recreating his multi-award winning Indian restaurant concept in other UK locations is through franchise agreements with carefully selected and like minded business partners.
He said, "We have steadily increased our reputation for the innovative quality of our food and superb service. It's something our customers locally enjoy and value but has also made us realise what potential the Lasan brand has outside our heartland."
Lassan was established eight years ago but hit the headlines when it won Gordon Ramsay's F Word competition earlier this year. |

A new guide to eating fresh locally produced food and drink in season has been launched by the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire (BBO) Food Group.
Under the title Make the most of it! Local Flavours the food guide lists 88 food and drink producers and growers, caterers and restaurants, box schemes and pick your own, farm shops and farmers' markets across the three counties.
"Food that is grown and reared close to home and sold in its seasonal prime will be in tip top condition, and cheaper than imported out-of-season produce," said Tamara Schiopu, Director of BBO Food Group. The guide includes seasonal recipes, foodie events in the three counties, listings of farmers, markets in the region and foodie walking trails. |

West Midlands-based Boparan Group has taken over Harry Ramsden's fish and chip shop chain, adding it to its ever expanding food empire.
Boparan intends to turn around the struggling chain of 35 shops. Started in 1928 in Guiseley near Leeds, at its peak Harry Ramsden's was valued at £49m. Boparan paid only £10m earlier this year. Growing competition in the fast food sector from new operators had seen the chain fall out of favour.
Owner Ranjit Boparan, 43, is one of the UK's most successful entrepreneurs, with a workforce of over 6,000 worldwide and combined annual sales approaching £1 billion. The Boparan Group, which already owns the 2 Sisters Food Group and the FishWorks restaurant chain, also recently announced the multi-million pound purchase of Grimsby's Five Star Fish processors. |
