Jamie's Italian, the casual dining restaurant chain started by Jamie Oliver is to open a £1.5 million outlet in Nottingham, with a further site being considered in Birmingham.
The restaurant is to open in the Low Pavement, in an 18th-century townhouse presently occupied by the Jass Café. The outlet will have 200 covers across the first and ground floors with pavement seating outside. Jamie's Italian serves food throughout the day and operates on a first-come-first-served basis.
The day-to-day running of the chain is in the hands of Simon Blagden. Presently the chain has 10 branches, with four more set to open over the summer - Covent Garden, Glasgow, Liverpool, and Westfield London. The Nottingham and Birmingham ventures will become the 15th and 16th respectively. |

"We're delighted that so many people have taken the time to post such amazing comments about their meal with us," said Curry Lounge owner Arfan Razak. The Gold Award is the latest accolade for the Curry Lounge and follows a special commendation at the British Curry Awards 2009, and a place on toptable's top ten best value restaurant list. |
