sharwoods_productA company based outside Bristol has experienced a large rise in demand for British curry style foods, which it ships out to customers on the Indian subcontinent.

British Corner Shop, based in Iron Acton, specialises in supplying homesick ex-pats with traditional British foodstuffs that they can't get abroad. Ironically there appears to be a big demand for spicy products such as curry sauces, and Indian-flavoured ready meals from India.

Managing director, Mark Callaghan said the most popular orders were the Fray Bentos Curry Pie, Sharwood's Sauces and Pot Noodle - in flavours such as Tikka Masala and Bombay Bad Boy. He said there has been a marked rise in demand for curry products globally, with demand from India alone rising 20% last year.
