PoppadumsFor a quiet, off the beaten track restaurant, Poppadums, in Brentford, has been quite a stir.

Its riverside location by the Thames may be picturesque and cooking authentic, but Poppadums has gradually become quite a magnet for Bollywood stars too with names such as Anil Kappor, Sunil Shetty, Irfan Khan, Asha Bhosle and several others gracing its dinner tables.

With dishes such as ginger fish, trah trah ki tikki, anjeer kebab, kheema methi and more, being favourites for many of the restaurant's regulars - including gornment minister Ann Keen, who has been seen dining here with John Prescott on more than one occasion - manager Pradeet Paletu says that the reason for their success is very simple.

"Ou cooking, thanks to chef and partner Mohd Shameem Ahmed," he adds, "and our service is at the heart of it and we never compromise on it. There is nothing fancy or fusion on our menu plus the fact that a lot of Bollywood stars like our hidden away location so nobody disturbs them or makes a big fuss of them."
